Everyone ready for the Edinburgh Film Festival? It's bumped up to June this year -- it generally takes place in August.

The opening film this year will be The Edge of Love. The festival runs from June 18 - June 29.

As for now, hollywoodreporter.com says that, "Organizers said Knightley, Miller, Rhys and Maybury are expected to attend the gala event June 18." Where's Mr. Murphy's name? We'll just have to see what happens there.

Variety.com shares with us a snippet of what EIFF's artistic director says about this film opening for the festival:

"I couldn’t be happier to be opening this most auspicious festival with this utterly seductive and fascinating film, which stars some of the most charismatic young performers in the business, and affirms John Maybury as one of our most important directors...It's a film that I personally adore, and opening with it is the perfect expression of our commitment to intelligent, impassioned, exciting new filmmaking."

Hope all goes well at the preview there. Horrah to the lucky Scott's who get to view it. Can't wait to hear some great reviews!

As for the films actual theatrical release, variety.com also claims it will open in London on June 20th and then on June 27th we shall see a nation-wide release. I'll keep you all posted on the dates.

Yet again, Cillian's at it! Seems like the roles just keep on rollin' on in for him. This one's called High Moon and it's said to be a "horror/western feature" according to g4tv.com. It'll also star Rutger Hauer, and be produced by John Woo. Also, on the site, there's a stab at what the flick will be about:

"From the title, we're guessing that means that it will be a werewolf movie set in the old west, but can't be sure of that."

Sounds pretty exciting to me! Once I hear of more, I shall keep you posted.

In other news, in another month, Cillian is scheduled to start filming with Ellen Page for their film, Peacock, in Iowa. Just a refresher, the film is about a guy, played by Cillian Murphy, who has a split personality. Get ready folks, Cillian plays a woman, "Emma" and a man, "John" in this one! Not only does he lead this crazy and insane double life Ellen Page, "Maggie" plays a single mother holding the key to Cillian's characters past. Remember people, this one's a physcological thriller.

A website WCFcourier.com mentioned that the film Peacock is looking for Iowa actors! There are 18 small roles open: "The film’s casting call is offered in conjunction with this weekend’s Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival." Good luck to those up for the roles! To find out more go to the site provided earlier on in the paragraph.

He's a more up-to-date idea about Cillian's next piece of art, Peacock.

From the Dallas Voice:

"Murphy will have another chance to tap into his feminine side with “Peacock,” in which he plays a small-town man with a split personality — he’s a husband and wife, all wrapped up in one body, whom the locals think are separate people.

Trouble occurs when a young mother (“Juno” cutie Ellen Page) falls in love with Murphy’s male side, prompting a conflict between the married pair he’s got inside of him.

Michael Lander makes his directorial debut with “Peacock,” which should strut into theaters in 2009."

He's going to be the talk of the town this next coming year. Cillian looks to be one with severl projects to tackle!

Ellen Page, most recently known for her role in Juno, and Cillian Murphy are to star in a film titled Peacock. It's a psycological thriller, his character has split personalities. Ellen's character is said to be the woman who holds a key to his past.

I love it when he has such complex characters like this!

Cillian says, "Peacock stunned me as a script from start to finish. It offers an incredible challenge to an actor -- one I couldn't turn down."

The film will be brought to you by Mandate Pictures and produced by Barry Mendel. Filming is said to begin in May of 2008.

Another role for Cillian?

Darkhorizons.com reports that, "MGM is looking at the likes of Ryan Gosling, Ben Foster, Cillian Murphy and even Elijah Wood for their $40 million remake of Charles Bronson classic The Mechanic."

The lead role in the film will go to Sylvester Stallone, in which his character wished to become a professional killer.

If there's more to know about the "rumors" of this film, and Cillian's role -- I'll be sure to keep you up-to-date.

Have a good one!

A new project may be under Cillian's belt soon then we could think of, in a recent interview on afterellen.com Feist talks about her next music video, it is to star Cillian Murphy and Michael Fox and it will be a short film.

Next little tid bit I have for you is a snippet from cinemablend.com. We all know now that Scarecrow is indeed back for another Batman flick. The article says, "Maybe it’s just me, but Scarecrow’s van sounds like the scariest location of them all. What kind of supervillain brings their victims into their van? A fucked up villain, that’s who." I can't wait for this film this summer!

I have more to share with you all soon!
